Author: Virgil Oglesby
Author Bio: The author is a veteran of 28 years. His career having spanned the period from WW II through the end of the Vietnam conflict. He entered the US Army from his home state of Kentucky, and rose through the ranks from Private to Lieutenant Colonel of infantry. Oglesby served in Airborne, Special Forces and special operations. He was at one point the battalion commander of the 3rd of the 1st infantry of the Americal Division. His exemplary service brought him a number of awards including the Silver Star, the Legion of merit, the Distinguished Flying Cross, seven Bronze Stars with V devise, numerous Army and Air Force Commendation Medals along with a Purple Heart and two awards of the Combat Infantry Badge. Colonel Oglesby and his wife each have grown sons. They now live in retirement in Brandon, Florida where they spend their time fishing and writing.
