Author Bio: The author is a veteran of 28 years, his career having spanned the period from World War II through the end of the Vietnam conflict. He entered the service from his home state of Kentucky, and rose through the ranks from Private to Lieutenant Colonel. Oglesby served in Airborne, Special Forces, Special Operations and was a Battalion Commander of the 3rd of the 1st Infantry of the Americal Division. His exemplary service brought him a number of awards, including two Silver Stars, The Legion of merit, The Distinguished Flying Cross, seven Bronze Stars, and numerous Army and Air Force Commendation medals along with two Purple Heart medals. Colonel Oglesby and his wife Grace each have three grown sons. They now live in retirement in Seffner. Florida where he spends his time writing and fishing.

Book Description:   Army lieutenant colonel James Hedrick comes out of retirement to assist in obtaining the release of five oil company employees being held by Maoist Guerrillas in the small South American country of LaGuna. Formerly a province of Ecuador it is now run by a military dictatorship. Hedrick brings justice to the guerrillas then holding the hostages and gets them safely into Ecuador, while fighting a one-man delaying action against the LaGuna military. The administration at that time, and the State Department, having ignored and denied all references to a hostage situation, are now determined to prosecute Hedrick, and failing that, to extradite him to LaGuna to face murder charges. Hedrick escapes to lead a mercenary band to restore LaGuna to Ecuador's control and to bring justice to the evil despot there. Following the dictator's death Hedrick returns to the U.S. to find a conmspiracy made up of DEA, State and Justice Departments, and even with roots into the White House, is still trying to kill him. Hedrick goes on the run heading for Washington, D.C. While on the run he meets criminal adversaries in Memphis, then is captured in a small town in Pennsylvania and is held in a bizarre slave labor situation before breaking free to continue on his way to the nation's capitol. He reaches Washington and there Hedrick must ferret out the conspirators to win justice and to free of federal presecution. Along the way Hedrick falls in love, and earns enough money to make retirement a lot easier. An exciting read that is not as far-fetched as it might seem, with the current situations in the drug wars.
