Our Book: |
| Is There a Cache? is the fictional story of ex-Green Beret MSgt. Douglas Martin who returned to San Diego, California to re-evaluate his life's direction after breaking off his Army career. By chance, while reading a second-hand book, he came across a portion of a old letter which alluded to a lost treasure of the Civil War era. Doug is tough, strong, and well-disciplined, a man by any measure, but deep down there's a young boy seeking adventure, and the father he lost many years before. The obscure bit of information and its promise invigorated and intrigued him. Having time on his hands and nothing to lose, he decided to pursue it. Doing extensive research and applying dogged determination, he began to unravel the mystery. He then faced many obstacles, some natural, some contrived by men who, suspecting his purpose, had no reservations about using deadly force to stop him. Doug used all his cunning and physical skills, but reaching the point where he was hopelessly outnumbered, he sent out a "man down, backup needed" call to comrades in the area. They soon rallied around him to confront the Road Rogues, a vicious gang of outlaw bikers. After a violent rumble the threat was dispatched, clearing the way for Doug to find out if there really was a cache. |
