| About
Our Book: |
| This collection of poems reflect the pain, grief, lack of hope for the future and utter despair that one can feel when trying to negotiate life without a captain to steer the ship. These poetic reflections reveal feelings of uselessness, uncertainty, inability to achieve and a desire to be loved, which culminates in finding true love. In a greater sense, they also reveal the hopelessness and the search for one's inner worth that endures throughout life when unconditional love is not present during one's formative years in spite of being raised to believe in Jesus Christ. However, as you will see, when we truly search our souls and call on that background from which we fled, answers will come, hope will present itself and love will reign in your heart. I truly wish to thank my wife Pat, who cried with me and stayed with me through the lost years. I wish to thank Dr. Susan K. Wells for the encouragement and inspiration she gave me to publish these poems. Hopefully, they will help someone else as much as the writing of them has been very therapeutic for me. I would like to acknowledge the writer of Inquiry of a Friend (What Happen to me?). The writer is unknown, however, I included it simply because I like the poem. Also, I would like to acknowledge my son who at the age of fourteen wrote - Pops included in Hope springs forth. However, I must never forget my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Had it not been for Him, I would not be here and neither would this book. |
