About Our Book:
You can not afford to be without this book. It offers very useful information, all in one place about immigrating to Canada. The purpose of this book is threefold: 1. To assist the do-it-yourselfer in navigating the often confusing and somewhat overwhelming immigration process. 2. To help you learn more about Canada. 3. To help you settle in Canada by providing information and internet resources to assist you in: applying for a health card, obtaining a drivers license, finding a home, finding a school, learning about mortgages, finding job sites, and much more. Comments from Buyers of the First Edition: "You've done a really good job with this book. I think people will find it very helpful and it helps guide them through the confusing jungle we know as Canada Immigration and Customs." Damien (Ohio) "Your book and webpage help put many on the right track". James (Texas) "The book is highly detailed and will be very useful to anyone intending to move to Canada. I strongly encourage you to buy a copy if you are planning on relocating to Canada" Claudia (Quebec) (http://www.workincanada.net) ?I am an immigrant applicant at the beginning of the road and I give my special thanks to Jo for her book. It is very useful to all citizens from all over the world. It is not considered a simple book, but a guide, an encyclopedia with everything about Canada, more than I imagined. I invite every person who wants to be more familiar with Canadian immigration, lifestyle and the labour market to get this book first without any hesitation

About the Author:
Jo was born in Kentucky, grew up in Virginia and lived in Atlanta, Georgia for almost 20 years prior to settling in Nova Scotia. After working for many years, she decided to go back to university to complete a degree. She worked full-time and attended classes in the evening and weekends, graduating in 1997 with a BA degree from Oglethorpe University. She worked for many years as an Administrative Assistant/Executive Director in Atlanta, Georgia, including over 12 years with the Rotary Club of Atlanta. In 2001, she decided to move to Nova Scotia, Canada, and began researching how to immigrate. She successfully became a permanent resident of Canada in January, 2003. She applied on her own without the assistance of a personal representative or an immigration lawyer and learned many valuable lessons in the process. After becoming a permanent resident of Canada, she took an H&R Block tax course and worked for the company for one season, while taking an online course in Financial Planning. She has found both courses extremely helpful in learning about taxation, finances and Canada in general. She has spent years researching immigration to Canada and would like to share what she has learned with others. This book is a product of her love for research, the do-it-yourself approach to learning, and her experience in immigrating to Canada from the US.
