About the Author:
John Shean-rong Chou, M.D., J.D., is an attorney specializing in healthcare law, medical malpractice, and personal injury. He holds a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of California at Los Angeles, an M.D. degree with James Scholar honor from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a J.D. degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles. He received his postgraduate medical training at the University of Southern California Medical Center. He is board certified in family medicine and legal medicine.

Dr. Chou has practiced law in southern California since 1992 and has practiced medicine in ambulatory care settings since 1988. He is currently a consulting physician at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center. He has co-authored several books on medical malpractice, published by Aspen Law & Business, and has lectured on healthcare issues at both legal and medical conferences. Dr. Chou has also testified in court as an expert on medical malpractice matters and has been interviewed in both radio and television programs.
