| About
Our Book: |
| "Journeys" is a collection of 30 poems by Kevin Sinclair. It is a reflection on various stages through the journey of life. Each of us goes through periods of looking for friendship and love, enduring and recovering from painful situations, and experiencing joy and love. These poems reflect these situations and the emotions associated with them. This is a deeply moving book of poetry. You cannot help but be touched by the beautiful words used to express the feelings experienced in various circumstances in life. The author draws on his own personal experiences, what he has witnessed, and on his imagination. |

| About
the Author: |
Kevin Sinclair started writing poetry in 1971 at the age of 15. His early influences were songwriters such as Paul Simon, Billy Joel, Harry Chapin and Melanie. While he wanted to write songs, his natural ability with words quickly shone through and that is where he concentrated his efforts. Over the years, Kevin has written over 1400 poems with his most prolific years being 1977 to 1979. Friends encouraged him to get his poems published but he was very reluctant to do so. Then, in 1997, he established his own poetry web site where he published a small selection of his work. The frequent feedback from visitors has been very rewarding and encouraging. A common theme runs through the feedback received from visitors to his web site. Most comment on his ability to move the reader through a whole range of emotions. Perhaps this comment made by one reader says it best: "Your poetry speaks to me in a way I thought nothing could." Since having his poetry published on the web, Kevin has received many requests for the use of his poems. His poems have been read during weekly "stories, myths and poetry" sessions at a juvenile correctional facility in Southern California. Also, various newsletters have requested permission to reproduce some of his poems in their publications. Kevin lives in Brisbane, Australia, with his wife, Marie.
