| About
Our Book: |
The Bible abounds with scriptures telling of a wonderful rest God affords to those who follow Him. Unfortunately, too many Christians who hear this truth and believe it continue to live in fear, never finding the rest that God offers them. They believe in God. They truly love the Lord. They read the Word and believe it. Yet, because of sin, they continue to have doubts about their faith. Why is there so much doubt among committed believers? Where is the shortcoming in the teaching? What is needed to convince believers to trust in God, to take Him at His Word and to enter into His rest? This book provides a clear explanation of scripture to enable us to understand the nature of sin, the difference between obedience and grace, and the relevance of the Old and New Testaments to believers today. With these understandings of scripture, the reader should be able to apply scriptural truth to daily living in a way that will bring Gods rest tot the believer.
This book contains the following chapters: Introduction Establishes that scripture shows Gods people can miss entering into his rest even though they believe deeply in him and follow him. Chapter One Justified by Faith, Not Works explains justification from a scriptural standpoint and why God is more interested that we believe him than what we do. Chapter Two Sanctification explains sanctification and how it relates to justification by faith. Chapter Three Righteousness uses scripture to explain the two kinds of righteousness. Shows the dangers of self-righteousness and how we can easily slip into it. See Preview Chapter Four The Old Testament and the Law; The New Testament and Sin Explains why living according to the Old Testament is no longer valid and why it is dangerous. Chapter Five What is Sin? explains what sin is and is not. Shows that sin and the Law are not synonymous. Chapter Six Expediency Clearly defines expediency and leads the believer toward the proper lifestyle without the Dos and Donts. Chapter Seven Peace discusses this as the ultimate goal and show the three kinds of peace that lead to Gods rest and the fruitful Christian life. Chapter Eight Glorious Church Without Spot or Wrinkle; The Body of Christ uses scripture to show that the church is already without spot or wrinkle. Chapter Nine Entering Into Gods Rest brings all of the teaching in this book into a simple explanation of how to enter into the rest that God has promised, but so few actually find.
