About Our Book:

Starplan is a book about the connection between safety, attitudes and morale in the workplace. It is also a call to self-sovereignty and personal empowerment. It is the story of six employees who created a “grass roots” culture change helping each other create a more positive work environment leaving the victim mentality behind. Starplan proclaims “Attitudes are a choice.” Attitudes are not conclusions we have drawn from life’s experiences. They are the causes of those experiences. If we have incorporated attitudes or beliefs into our lives which are uncomfortable or no longer in our best interest, is it not possible to change them into something more suitable? Starplan contends it is! This book is about the process.

About the Author:

Michael Maloney has been a railroad conductor since 1965. He has worked primarily in Roseville California. He spent about 15 years in passenger service for Amtrak and the former Southern Pacific. Currently he is employed by the Union Pacific. For the past 7 years he has been involved with the training and education of new employees. Starplan is his second book. His first, Hearts and Bones, Expanding Compassion and Consciousness through Relationship, was published in 1994. He may be contacted on the Starplan web site at Starplan.org.
